Find open network webcams that you can view

Some ways to find some unsecure network cameras... you know, the ones that people use for home security or a bit of fun, a standalone camera that has a LAN port.

After looking on Google, I found a few blog posts and forums talking about finding webcams to view. Apparently it all started here.

search for the following things using Google

  1. inurl:"view" intitle:"Axis 2100 Network Camera"
  2. inurl:"ViewerFrame?Mode="
  3. inurl:"view/index.shtml"
  4. inurl:"axis-cgi/mjpg"
  5. inurl:"MultiCameraFrame?Mode="
  6. inurl:"CgiStart?"

You'll be presented with webcams people might not know have been made public by google. Some have amazing refresh rates.

Also, checkout this site for a directory of quite a few random webcams

This camera is by far one of the best streams I've found so far.

On weekdays I'm a Solution Architect at Nokia Siemens Networks, creating creative software solutions for mobile operators around the world.

In my spare time I'm an avid new technology fan, and constantly strive to find innovative uses for the new gadgets I manage to get my hands on. Most recently I've been investigating Mobile Codes, RFID and Home automation (mainly Z-Wave). With a keen eye for usability I'm attempting to create some cost-effective, DIY technology solutions which would rival even high-end retail products. The software I develop is usually released as Open Source.

I have a Finnish geek partner, so have begun the difficult task of learning Finnish.
